With profound appreciation to the Minerva Volunteer Fire Department, who donated the use of their building today, our first Community Snip and Chip is complete.
We owe the ability to fund this low-cost spay/neuter event to the generosity of our sponsors for this month — Denman Overhead Door and Cameron U-Store-M.
The organization for this event flowed from the Minerva Community. Crystal Denman organized it and got everyone scheduled, but we couldn’t have done it without the undying support of Ally Robinson, Carolyn Vinton, Cathy Jones, Janice Dunsmoor, and Bella Wheeler who was everywhere and doing anything that needed to be done.
We spayed/neutered fifteen dogs today, and one needs to be done in the main clinic at a later date. Seven more received needed vaccinations, worming medication, and nail trims.
This is the first of what we plan to be many events to benefit the small communities in Milam County By bringing low-cost veterinary care to the local community, we can help people get their companion animals spayed and neutered so they don’t keep having puppies or kittens they don’t want. For many, price isn’t the only obstacle, transportation enters into their consideration as well. By bringing the veterinarian to the community, we can help with that. Caring volunteers who love their local community made this event a reality. Milam Touch of Love was able to pull the details together.
