Last night we held our annual members’ meeting. On Zoom. We had a good group, but it’s much more satisfying to meet with our members in person. We’re grateful to everyone who did make the trek to their computer/phone to join us, vote on a few items, and suggest the direction for the next year for the organization.
We updated everyone on the many, many accomplishments over the last year. It was our first year of operation, so almost everything was a first for us, which made for lots of excitement.
Members approved the membership fees for the next year. We recommended keeping them the same as last year, and members concurred.
Members approved the Board of Directors slate. We expected that.
Members voted on the new logo, which will debut when we finalize details with Applegate Design and get the official files.
Finally, we discussed directions we should consider taking over the next year.
— Continue Snip & Chip
— Continue transporting dogs
— Look for other ways to raise funds and member participation
— Facilitate discussions between the city and county to reach a memorandum of understanding about county housing to benefit county dogs
— Expand our education role in the community
