Have you been interested in volunteering either with Milam Touch of Love or one of the two shelters in Milam County? Both shelters accept volunteers, and you don’t have to work directly with the animals to help. Both shelters need people who can mow lawns, do small repairs, do clerical work, or clean the shelter facility apart from the animal areas. Obviously, animal care is necessary, too. If you want to help, please let us know where your interests lie.
If you want to volunteer in Cameron, go to Cameron’s Shelter at 1200 E. Gillis Ave during weekdays between 9-5. Talk to Sandra about what you’re interested in doing, and she’ll get you matched up.
If you want to volunteer in Rockdale, go to Rockdale’s Shelter at 490 Beverly Drive during weekdays between 9-5. Talk to Janiece about what you’re interested in doing, and she’ll get you matched up.
If you want to volunteer with Milam Touch of Love, email us at info@milamtouchoflove.org, and we’ll find a good match for you as well. All of us need fosters. If you’re interested in being a Super Foster for MTOL, please contact us. What’s a Super Foster? You agree to care for dogs found in the county while they are waiting for their forever home or to be transported to a rescue. We provide outdoor kennels and a play yard, doghouse, food and water receptacles, food, and appropriate veterinary care. You provide a clean, safe environment, socialization, and love. This is a long-term but not a permanent commitment.
